FREELANCERS #45 - 07/15/25

Hello!

Hope you liked Teryn and Vondra's last day on the job last month. Got a neat, possible trilogy taking shape for them. Something of a 24 meets Ghost In The Shell in their new job hunting crime bosses and royalist agents after a revolution.

Got a super quick update and some well wishes today.

Progress/Life Update

Ideas are coalescing into something I can start writing soon. Am liking the idea of having a series with shorter, fun stories that I can cook up and get out there in a more reasonable time frame. Was pondering a Firefly-inspired setup with a crew of space rangers on the frontier getting into shenanigans and helping people while stumbling to help themselves in the process, then I bounced back to a shifted vibe to the Nova Menace sisters. My chaotic brain will bear fruit soon, I promise.

In the meantime, just wanted to chime in and say I hope you're taking care of yourself and doing well.

If you can, please take some time and do something that makes you smile. It's easy to get caught up in the grind and forget to come up for air.

Enjoy something simple. Get comfy and read a book, play some video games, rewatch your favourite movie or show, spend time with friends and family, doodle or paint something, get back into a hobby you haven't touched in a while, whatever brings you joy.

Stay tuned for a cool story next month! With all the ideas bouncing around in my head, I can close my eyes and pick something cool from the hat.
