FREELANCERS #41 - 03/15/25
Hello!
Hope you liked the little prequel to Star-Crossed Lovers last month. Tried hard to sell the chemistry and keep it fun.
Very light update this month, then sharing some cool tunes I've been enjoying recently.
Progress/Life Update
Been writing when I can, but the house has been hit with overlapping illnesses like Norwalk virus and a stubborn cough. Not happy to have it myself, but is very unpleasant hearing my poor 3-year-old hacking like a smoker. Stay safe, wash your hands, and be careful touching your face if you're out in public. Lots of nasty bugs bouncing around.
Still working on Phoenix Company Book 2 alongside Star Crossed Lovers. Has been hard getting in the mood for the latter lately, but progress is being made.
Here's some music that I've been playing on repeat lately.
Heard the Warning on the radio and really dug this track. Seem like cool peeps too. Three sisters who rock real hard. Hell yeah.
For something more electronic, Rift of the Necrodancer came out recently, but I found my way back to the original game's soundtrack. Here's my favourite track off Crypt of the Necrodancer and a dope remix I missed previously.
Finished the show months ago, but the music is still very much in my life. Here's my favourite two tracks from Arcane Season 2. Fun note on Ashes and Blood, the choir in the back are singing in Shuriman, a language in League's setting. It's a prayer to Janna, the wind goddess. Such a cool detail if you know bits of the lore and adds beautiful context to the scene where this song is played. Come Play is simply a banger.
Hope the tunes give you something to jam to. Highly recommend checking out more of the Warning, Necrodancer, and Arcane soundtracks. Stay tuned for a cool story next month!
Here's the link to the archive of newsletters in case you missed any.
Talk to you next month. Have a good one!
