FREELANCERS #47 - 09/14/25

Surprise!

Am dropping this one early for a change of pace. Also I'm switching email services soon, so wanted to get it out before the subscription expired over here :D

Hope you liked Daelia's tale of defiance last month. Was a fun exercise in letting the story take its own safeties off to what I feel are great results.

Got a quick progress and life update, then some fun videos and tunes to share.

Progress/Life Update

First two weeks of September had our daughter going to junior kindergarten and my brother-in-law's wedding two days ago, but we're getting acclimatized to our new schedule. So runway is clearing up for me to get more writing done.

Will decide next month, but I might put the next two short stories on hold unless I have sample chapters of works in progress that fit to share. It takes me a few days up to a week or more to put them together. While they're fun and good for my craft, I want to keep the rest of this year focused on getting something more substantial done and out.

Just finished outlining an origin story for the Nova Menace sisters that feels compelling to me. So might just say all ahead full on that one. Is probably the Ninja Turtles' doing, but I'm very drawn to the dynamics between a close group of four main characters (Kateryna was absent in their short story, but you'll meet her soon!)

Here's a short series of funny jokes if you're in the mood for some dark fantasy humour (nothing too rough. Is good fun).

For those who spend a lot of time sitting and could do with some more stretches in your life (like me), my lovely and supporting wife is an excellent yoga teacher and recently started her own YouTube channel! Please check her out and subscribe if you like it. Her work is targeted more towards moms, but there's a good bit in there for everyone.

Lastly, the original and a sweet remix to a classic tune from my youth. Goldeneye 64's pause music had no business going this hard. Anyone else remember multiplayer with power weapons in the facility? I remember. No Odd Job, though.
